Who We Are

Leonard Görgens

Leonard is the Principal Broker, Key Individual and Certified Financial Planner and owns a 55% membership shareholding in the CC. He has 28 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is a specialist in all the categories of financial planning and specializes in Personal Insurance, Investment Advice, Group Benefits and Healthcare products.

Leonard has a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning Law acquired through the University of Orange Free State.

On a personal note, Leonard has been happily married to Estelle for 36 years, has 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. He leads a very active life and enjoys cycling, hunting, spear fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles Smith

Charles started in the insurance industry as a Broker in 1990 and has worked for some of the big players namely Old Mutual, Sanlam and Discovery.

He joined Isimilo Investments CC in 2005 and owns a 40% shareholding in the CC. Charles is a Key Individual and has been working as a fully Independent Financial Planner since 2010.

Charles specializes in personal insurance, medical aid and employee benefits.

Charles has been married to Joan for 37 years, has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. He enjoys golf, spending time with friends and family and is a specialist braai master.

Geraldine Koch

Geraldine joined Isimilo in July 2011 where she worked and attended client meetings alongside Leonard until 2014 whilst she obtained the minimum qualification requirements.

She completed the Advanced Certificate in Financial Planning through Milpark in 2016. She started to work independently as a broker and was also appointed as Isimilo’s Office Manager.

Geraldine specializes in holistic financial planning and her main target market is Millennials. She is also the principal short-term insurance broker and focusses on new business and client meetings.

The Post Grad in Financial Planning is in her 5-year plan.

Geraldine has been married to Hendri since 2016 and has 2 children. She enjoys camping and running but mostly spending time with family and friends.

Zurika Hurter

Zurika joined Isimilo Investments in 2018 after 30 years’ service in the banking sector. She has completed her Certificate in Banking, the RE1 and RE5 insurance industry qualifications and is a qualified short term insurance broker.

She oversees the implementation of new business, administration, policy renewals and claims processes of our short-term insurance clients.

Zurika works remotely from Gqeberha and has been happily married to Lood for 33 years. She has two sons and waiting patiently for grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys camping and shopping.
